⭐ Québec City tours compared from the current inventory

Québec City Bus & Sightseeing Tours

Bus tours cover the distances that are tiring on foot: a hop-on hop-off open-top bus, a one-hour express loop, a panoramic tour with a local guide, and combined trips that add Montmorency Falls or Île d’Orléans. There is also a helicopter flight over the city.

Good to know: A bus gives you an overview, not the inside of the old town: the narrow streets of Old Québec are best on foot, so many visitors combine one bus loop with a walking tour. Open-top decks are cold outside summer, and a hop-on ticket only pays off if you really plan to get off.

Frequently asked questions

How far are Montmorency Falls from Old Québec?

About 12 km, roughly 15 to 20 minutes by car. The park has a cable car, and many tours combine the falls with the old town or Île d’Orléans.

Is Old Québec worth a guided tour, or can I walk it alone?

The old town is small enough to explore alone. A guide adds the history that the streets do not show; the guided walks with the funicular or the street-theatre routes do that best. Wear sturdy shoes, because the town is steep.

Does Québec City have a beach?

No. The city sits on the St. Lawrence River and has no sea beach. The waterfront is for walking, and a walk with a ferry crossing to Lévis is among the listed tours.

Can I go whale watching from Québec City?

Not as a normal half-day trip. Tadoussac, the usual base, is about 200 km away, roughly 2.5 to 3 hours each way by car, so it means a very long day or an overnight stay. No tour in the current inventory departs from the city for whales.

Are Montréal day trips included here?

No. Many of the most-reviewed Québec trips start in Montréal and spend hours on the road. We leave them out because they are not tours of Québec City. Montréal is roughly three hours away by train.

When is the Hôtel de Glace open?

Only in winter. In the 2025–26 season the operator listed visits from 4 January to 22 March 2026. Dates are set each year, so check the booking page before you plan around them.
